A Walk in the Harbor [Virtual Tour] | Oslo – Norway

See how the first rays of the sun wakes up the beautiful harbor of Oslo.

Let’s start a journey. A journey through some key locations of the harbor of the capital of Norway, Oslo. This interactive 360-degree virtual tour gives you the opportunity to navigate through 6 locations to explore this beautiful place lying at the tip of Oslo Fjord. You can get to know such sights as the Oslo Rådhus (Oslo City Hall), the Akershus Castle, the famous Untuned Bell, or the Statue av Tordenskjold. Our journey starts on the side of Akershus Castle. I hope you’ll enjoy it.

Calm and quiet or busy and noisy

There’s always something happening at the harbor of Oslo. In the early morning hours as you experience in the 360 photographs, the piers, and the streets are completely empty, still, there’s something that breaks the silence. The squeaking of the seagulls and the sound of the sea as its waves hit the shore. If you’d like to enjoy that, you have to get up at least as early as I did when I created that virtual tour. Because soon, the harbor will be filled with the beautiful people of Oslo as they rush to work.

This part of Oslo is kind of a node. On the right side of the harbor looking towards the islands and the sea, there lies the Aker Brygge, which is a famous pier with many Nordic restaurants and a medium-sized shopping center. Also, the ferries from the smaller islands of Oslofjords like Hovedøya, Langøyene, Gressholmen, Lindøya, and Nakholmen arrive and start from here, so all the people who live on them, arrive to the city here. Many citizens cross this place every day because that’s where their daily routine takes them, or because they just want to enjoy its special vibe. Of course, as you could’ve seen in the 360-degree photos, many sightseeing ships operate here as well, so it’s a popular place for locals and tourists alike.
